Call out to poets and performers
Performance length: 5-30 minutes Performer fee: £30
Threadbare presents Tender Threads, an evening of spoken word and experimental performance at Goldsmiths CCA as part of Deptford X festival.
We are seeking local London-based poets and performers to respond to the themes of soft space, tactics of care, realms of fantasy and dreamscapes, bringing a tender atmosphere to the stripped back concrete interior of The Oak Foundation Gallery. We are looking for work that softens, smooths, or caresses. We want to take the clinical edge off the institutional space. Any performative work that creates a sense of the soft, of dreams, or other-world-liness will be welcomed, experimental formats are encouraged. Our aim is to turn the post-industrial into the embryonic, the institutional into the tender.
Threadbare Collective have been part of the 2025 Residency programme at CCA this year. We have been developing an archive of utopian spaces for non-normative bodies during our time at the gallery, running workshops around access, queer architecture, weirding and disability. Tender Threads is a continuation of our mission to create subversive spaces of rest and recovery within an overprotective system.
There is a nominal fee of £30 for each performance, which can last anywhere between 5-30 minutes. Your work will be included as part of Deptford X and the CCA Programme.
In your proposal please include: • your contact information • where you are based • a summary of the work • images/video of the performance if documented • an approximate length in time for the performance
Please send your proposal to collectivethreadbare@gmail.com with the subject heading Tender Threads callout.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
